About IPG
Hi, I'm Bethany, the founder of Interior Procurement Group. Over the past 20 years, I've been providing procurement management services to a diverse range of interior design clients nationwide.
For me, procurement is more than just managing information—it’s an art form that blends my love of organization with the beauty of design. I've always been drawn to the creative world but have often felt torn between my artistic and analytical sides. Over time, these two sides have evolved in tandem through professional experiences and a painting practice that nurtures my creativity. If anyone understands the balance between these two forces, it's interior designers, which is why I've always felt a natural connection to this industry.
My career started at a Chicago-based textile manufacturer, where I managed the customs department. Coordinating specifications to production for non-catalog trade orders provided invaluable experience, ultimately qualifying me for my next role as in-house procurement director at a leading Chicago architectural firm. It was there that I found my niche—combining my analytical strengths with my love of design.
In 2009, I set out on my own to provide procurement management services to designers. What started as a way to balance life at home with young children, quickly grew into Interior Procurement Group. Through IPG, I’ve gained invaluable lessons from working with various firms and procurement systems.
What I enjoy most goes beyond project management; it’s about collaboration and building genuine relationships. The true reward comes from the personal connections I've made with trade vendors and clients over the years—many of whom have become friends. I continually seek new ways to support designers while maintaining the client intimacy and close-knit relationships central to my approach. For this reason, I've expanded into offering educational resources that will continue to grow and evolve.
